Swimmers are allowed to swim up to 5 events per meet: 3 individual events and 2 relays. Meets last approximately three hours.
What to Expect with Meets:
- All meets start at 5:30PM
- We ask that you arrive between 4:30 - 4:45
- Each meet with have specific warm up times which will be listed on the specific meet drop down (Under Meets section of the website) but the home team warms up first (usually 4:45 - 5) and the away team warms up second (typically around 5 - 5:15)
- See "Body Marking Information" below for how to mark your swimmer's arm with their meet information (Coaches can also support with this at the meet)
Away Meets
- Specific information for away meets will be on the specific meet drop down (Under Meets section of the website) - this includes timing, directions, parking, general information (where to set up etc) and concessions information.
Meet Communications
- On the day of the meet, OTC will send an email. The first file is the “heat sheet” which shows the sequence of races with swimmer names and lane assignments. The second file is the “entry list” with OTC swimmer assignments. Parents should print a copy at home.
Body Marking for Events Info
Parents should also mark their swimmer’s arms with their events.
- Find your swimmer's assigned events on the entry list
- Before writing, apply sunscreen and let dry
- Use a Sharpie and write: Event # - Heat - Lane - Event Description
*If your swimmer doesn't have their name on their OTC cap, please write their name on their right shoulder.
